a focal point.
I find
a happy place.
Please don't look at me
until I re-rearrange my face.
Maybe a hot shower will help.
Maybe some peppermint tea.
A bite to eat.
I'm going to have to lay down,
but I'll be fine
in a little while.
Every morning, a pile of pills.
How long will I hurt today
before I take the one I had to beg for?
I never forget a med anymore.
It is quiet in my head,
in this place I have been before.
I hear her sweet silly laughter,
filling the space
on the other side of the door.
While I am in
my happy place.
